About the

Trillium Wind Quintet

We share music through togetherness, create memorable moments on stage, and expand people’s musical journey.

Praised by the Saginaw Art Museum's Eye on the Arts for playing with such unity that listeners “may think they were united as a single instrument,” Trillium Wind Quintet finds its collective voice in the meeting of Brazilian, Japanese, and American musical perspectives. This exchange extends to its repertoire, which moves from canonical works to contemporary music and new creations, including compositions and arrangements by TWQ members.

Founded in 2025, Trillium Wind Quintet is rapidly earning visibility across Michigan. The TWQ has recently taken the stage in concert series in Jackson, Saginaw, and Flint. As an ensemble in residence for the 2026 Chamber Music Day at Saginaw Valley State University, the quintet performed on the Rhea Miller Concert Series and collaborated through masterclasses, chamber music coaching, and mentorship on ensemble practice.

The group takes its name from Michigan's trillium flower. Its three petals represent togetherness, authenticity, and intentionality, reflecting the place TWQ calls home while also expressing the ensemble's artistic philosophy. For its members, those values take shape through close listening, mutual trust, and the enjoyment of creating music together.
